Electrostatic filters which has the largest availability of normal separators, can handle very high dust concentrations and high temperatures. Electrostatic filters or precipitators are used in many areas such as flue gas cleaning and cement industries. In an electric filter the gas is passing slowly about 1m/s between emission electrodes and precipitation plates where the dust is charged by the electrodes and sticks to the electrically grounded precipitation plates. A percussion tool hits the electrodes and precipitation plates so that the dust falls down to the bottom of the filter where it is collected and transported away.

A Bag Filter is a set of textile filter bags that extract particles from gases. The material of the filter bags is optimized depending on temperature, scope and size of the filter. Pilum Industrifilter’s filter design is tailored to customer needs. The textile bag filters are cleaned with proven pneumatic technology.

Cassette filters are fabric filters that together with cartridge and bag filters belong to the group called blocking filters. Cassette filters is a proven filter model that can be found above all in heavy industry such as trenches and pits, foundries and engineering industries. Cassette filters are compact filters with a large filter area and are used in smaller plants and in a variety of processes.

Cartridge filters, which together with cassett- and bag filters are included in the group blocking filters, used in filtration of small dry particles from for example flue gases from treatment, grinding / blasting dust. Cartridge Filters are common in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Sinter filters has no ordinary textile in the filter media, instead the filtered gas passes through sintered plastic elements, also called sinter elements. The sinter elements are patented and developed by Herding GmbH Filtertechnik in Germany. Production takes place under close supervision at Herding’s own production plant in Amberg, Germany. The material in the sinter elements is based on polyethylene (PE) and has a coating of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).

Scrubbers, or wet separators, allow water to absorb pollutants from the gas. In addition to dust extraction scrubbers are used to separate gas form pollutants.

Envimulticompact consists of a number of small cyclones units. It thereby requires less space than conventional cyclones. Due to its design, it is resistant to abrasive dust. The envimulticompact cyclone is mainly used as a pre-separator before fabric filters or electrostatic precipitators, but it could be the only separator as well for biomass-fired boilers. Normal flow capacity is: 2000-70000 m³/h. Pilum also deliver regular cyclones, universal cyclones and high efficiency cyclones.

SCR stands for Selective Catalytic Reduction and separates the gas from nitrogen compounds by adding ammonia in the presence of a catalyst.

Assistant systems are designed by Pilum. Usually different kinds of assistant systems are a part of the total systems we deliver. Pilum also install assistant systems on site, carry out inspections and test the assistant systems prior to commissioning.
