Gravity Oil Skimmers
Potential - Floating Funnel Type Oil Skimmer
Floating funnel oil skimmer is a robust and economical solution for the removal of free-floating oil in a closed roof tank (floating roof, dome roof, cone roof, etc.) or open tanks. It works on the principle of gravity. It does not have any moving mechanical or electrical parts. The floating funnel skimmer incorporates adjustable floats to skim free-floating oils of varying density. As per process requirements, we offer a skimmer with a flexible hose or a fixed arm with swivel joints. Guide poles or ropes are provided to restrict unpredictable lateral movement of the skimmer. Based on the tank geometry, a fixed arm with a swivel joint can be integrated with either a single, double, or triple arm.
Potential - Floating Suction Oil Skimmer
Floating suction is designed to suck the top layer of oil from the surface of the liquid. The floating suction is used in conjunction with an industrial vacuum system or a positive displacement pump. The floating suction self-repositions according to the liquid level in the tank. Suction depth can be set and fine-tuned to accommodate aggressive surface suction and underneath a foam layer to remove the top layer of oily water. The system comprises LLDPE floats, stainless steel articulated suction arm, swivel assembly (specially designed for immersed service), vortex breaker, low shear positive displacement pump, and pressure relief valve.
Potential - Floating Weir Oil Skimmer
Floating oil skimmer (weir type) is a high-capacity, easy-to-deploy skimmer. It is used to recover light and medium viscous oils in marine oil spills. The skimmer works on the principle of buoyancy of the floating structure, surface tension of the floating liquid, and self-adjusting weir mouth. A 3-bar mechanism consisting of three floats maintains the weir in a horizontal plan at all times, even during disturbance (waves). An onboard pump is fitted to overcome friction loss along the transfer hose. The oil transfer pump is driven by either a diesel engine or an electric motor-driven hydraulic power pack.
