Soundproofing for Floors

SRS - Acoustilay Acoustic Flooring Underlay System

Acoustilay is a unique acoustic flooring system combining both mass and resilience to help reduce both airborne noise (TV Music, Speech), and impact noise (Footsteps etc.). Acoustilay can be used to introduce effective soundproofing in many domestic, residential and commercial environments.

SRS - Impactafoam Acoustic Foams

Impactafoam is designed to form a resilient layer reducing impact noise transmission in concrete and timber floors. Impactafoam is an inert cross-linked closed-cell polyethylene foam, therefore providing a vapour barrier with good compression strength. In a concrete construction, Impactafoam is laid as a membrane between a structural concrete floor of mass 300Kg/m2 and the finishing screed. For a raft floor construction Impactafoam batten strips are applied to the underside of the timber battens. In a conventional timber construction self adhesive batten strips are easily applied to the top of the floor joists. This forms a resilient layer between the joists and the boarding, reducing impact noise.

SRS - High Performance Acoustic Flooring Overlay System

Maxideck is an extremely high-performance acoustic flooring system, designed to deal predominately with the problem of airborne noise (TV, Music Speech) traveling through floors. Maxideck is 28kg per sqm and it is this mass that ensures it is the highest performing system of its type on the market. Maxideck can also offer some impact noise (Footsteps, etc.) reduction, but if this is your main problem.

Soundproofing for Walls

SRS - Maxiboard Acoustic Board for Walls

Maxiboard is a patented composite soundproof board manufactured from cement and gypsum with a polymeric core. The composite building board produced offers excellent sound insulation performance and is a very strong, high impact resistant board, suitable for taking screws and fixings direct. Maxiboard is designed to be easily and quickly installed within many different types of buildings and is ideal for soundproofing through new and existing walls.

SRS Coustifoam - Acoustic Absorption Foam for Walls and Ceilings

Coustifoam is a matt black acoustic foam, designed for installation where acoustic absorption is required (i.e. to reduce reverberation). It is ideal as an acoustic lining to soffits or walls, or for laying over the back of open cell suspended ceilings. The flexibility of Coustifoam allows it to be easily formed around penetrations or follow any contour. Coustifoam is available in various thicknesses and surface finishes and conforms to fire classification BS 476 Class 0.

Soundproofing for Walls

SRS - Compliant Acoustic Socket Boxes

Fabricated from 2 layers of 10mm thick high-density gypsum based board, SRS Socket and Service Boxes are designed to ensure the acoustic integrity of any metal or timber framed separating wall that contains sockets and/or services. The SRS Socket and Service Boxes have been designed in line with Robust Detail guidance, and are suitable for use with E-WT-1, E-WT-2, E-WS-1 and E-WS-2, as well as in standard soundproofing for walls applications for where Robust Details are not required.

SRS - Cavity Absorber for Walls

Maxislab is a semi-rigid, resilient, non-combustible, mineral wool product, providing soundproofing for walls  available in thicknesses of 25, 50, and 100mm.

Acoustic Vertical Cavity Barriers

SRS Soundbreaker - Acoustic Cavity Barrier

SoundBreaker is a versatile and easy to install solution to cross-talk noise transfer via floor & ceiling voids that can achieve 48dB Dnc,w.

SRS - Soundstop Acoustic Curtain

Soundstop is a multi-purpose acoustic barrier, suitable for many applications where the breakout of sound is a problem. In construction Soundstop is ideal for use in ceiling voids or within partition walls. For machinery, Soundstop can be applied to housings or enclosures and used to wrap noisy services and pipes. Soundstop is pleasant and easy to handle, it is formed by bonding lead or polymeric barrier between two layers of SRS Coustifoam. Soundstop will mould to most contours and with a thickness of only 13-15mm, takes up the minimum of space. Available in various types and finishes to meet defined specifications, Soundstop is a most versatile and efficient sound attenuator.
