Wastewater

Collection Systems Design Services

RJN engineers have completed design services for collection systems of municipalities, utilities, and private developers across the country. Project locations have included environmentally sensitive areas and older fully developed neighborhoods.

Construction Observation Services

RJN has completed over $300 million in construction management services for infrastructure improvement projects. Our success comes from a staff of knowledgeable personnel with construction experience and training. Management and coordination of regulatory agencies, contractors, municipalities, home owners and local utilities all play an important part in completing a successful project.

Field Data Collection and Management Services

RJN staff has evaluated over 250 million feet of deteriorated wastewater lines and manholes to determine the most effective method of rehabilitation, repair, or replacement.  The condition of the existing sewer lines drives the decision about the type and design of these improvements.

Flow Monitoring Services

Wastewater flow meters are used to measure sewer system performance by continuously recording flow rates throughout the full range of flows in both dry- and peak wet-weather conditions.  Flow monitoring campaigns support billing, master planning, capacity analyses, modeling, I/I reduction, and regulatory compliance needs.  Nationally, RJN engineers, field technicians and data analysts have installed and maintained flow meter networks ranging from one meter to several hundred with durations from as short as 1 week to nearly a decade.

Water

Water Systems Design Services

RJN has engineered solutions for water distribution systems spanning more than 85 million linear feet of water transmission line.  We have helped numerous clients with water distribution and pumping facilities improvements, including services for:Condition assessments,Feasibility studies,Hydraulic analysis and modeling,Water main rehabilitation, replacement, and relocation,Hydrant flow measurements,Leak survey and pressure testing,Booster pump station evaluation and design.

Drainage Analysis Services

A thorough analysis of drainage in the watershed can identify current or future problem areas. Efficient conveyance of stormwater, reduction in the occurrence of flooding, and a reduction of sediments entering the watershed is necessary to a community’s health and environment.

Hydraulic Modeling Services

Hydraulic modeling is a tool used to simulate collection systems and evaluate conveyance of flow throughout a sewer network. RJN is experienced using hydraulic models to analyze sanitary, stormwater, and combined sewer systems for a wide range of scenarios, including present base flows, future flows, storm events, and post-improvement alternatives.

Master Planning Services

RJN understands how critical it is for municipalities and/or utilities providing water, wastewater, or stormwater services to ensure that the public’s health and the community’s natural environment remains preserved. Master planning services can serve as a guide in making the right decisions for your community’s future success.  Sustaining livable communities and achieving balanced development in the community is a key focus in master planning.  RJN’s experienced professionals will analyze your current and anticipated needs and work with you to develop a plan that is timely and manageable to meet them.
