AMS - Model 59010 - Static Cone Penetrometer Complete

The Static Cone Penetrometer (SCP) is used to evaluate the consistency of soils, their level of compaction, and the bearing capacity of shallow foundations and pavement subgrades. It includes the standard cone, starter rod assembly, pressuregauge, and operating instructions. The standard cone is a 60-degree vertex angled cone with an area of 1.5 cm2. A larger, optional cone with an area of 3 cm2 is available for use in soft soils. The dual-rod construction isolates cone resistance from shaft friction. The pressure gauge ranges from 0 to 70 kg/cm2 and reads the cone resistance directly which eliminates the need to prove ring conversions. The starter rod assembly can withstand an axial force of 250 lb./ft (340 N*m) maximum. The penetrometer is made of stainless steel and anodized aluminum.
