The sand & sediment probe is ideal for sampling dry sand, loose sediment, and sludges that have settled at the bottom of drums and tanks. It is capable of recovering high-quality core samples in a variety of loose or saturated materials. This small diameter sampler comes equipped with a heat-treated replaceable core tip that has been bored out to accept a 1" core catcher and 1" X 24" plastic liner. This feature minimizes the gap between the tip and body of the sampler – resulting in a more representative core sample. The core catcher helps to ensure full sample recovery in the proper soil conditions. An oversized vent hole at the top of the sampler allows ambient air and liquids to escape while the sampler is pushed to the desired sampling depth.
